Where to eat in Los Gigantes
Los Gigantes is a small village in south Tenerife, at the foot of a rock wall that drops into the Atlantic. This page is about eating here, at AQUA, when what you want is that view, the sunset and a table with time.
The village
Los Gigantes sits in the municipality of Santiago del Teide, next to Puerto de Santiago, on the south-west coast. The marina, the promenade and the cliffs are the landscape. Around the harbour there are terraces for a coffee or a simple meal. What follows is the dinner we serve at AQUA: the room, the time of sunset, the menu and the way to the door.
AQUA is a restaurant in Los Gigantes with cliff views, at Calle Geranios 16. The dining room looks onto the ocean and the Cliffs of Los Gigantes. The cooking is Atlantic, with Canarian roots: local produce, fish landed at the port, papas bonitas and artisan mojos.
Dinner with the cliffs in front of you

You do not need a viewpoint to see the wall. From the table the cliff is in front of you and the sea is to the west. Dinner is Tuesday to Saturday, 18:30 to 22:00. The restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday.
The light is why many people choose this table. At sunset it comes in from the side, the rock changes colour, and for much of the year that happens during the meal. The times are below. For a table for two, there is also a page on a romantic sunset dinner in Tenerife.
What time the sun sets
Los Gigantes faces west. These are official sunset times for the village in 2026, rounded, in local time. The Canary Islands change the clock on the last Sunday of March and of October.
| Season | Sunset in Los Gigantes |
|---|---|
| January | Around 18:20–18:45 |
| April | Around 20:25–20:40 |
| July | Around 21:00 |
| October | Around 19:30–19:55 until the clock change; after that, around 18:25 |
The official time assumes a clear horizon. The cliff and the houses of the village can hide the sun a few minutes earlier.
Dinner starts at 18:30. In winter the sun sets close to opening, so the light goes as you sit down. From April into early October it sets once the meal is underway: that is the stretch when dinner and sunset actually overlap.
What you eat
The tasting menu is six courses at €65 per person. It changes with the season and is served to the whole table. The sequence takes between two and three hours. A 4-glass pairing is €45 if you ask for it. If you would rather choose dish by dish, there is an à la carte of fresh, seasonal produce.
The wine list leans on Canarian bottles — Listán, Marmajuelo, Malvasía — alongside Spanish and international classics. A sommelier is in the dining room.
Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free or lactose-free adaptations are possible if you say so when you book. They are prepared for that table, not printed as a separate menu.
