Romantic sunset dinner in Tenerife
In Los Gigantes, south Tenerife, the AQUA dining room faces the Atlantic and the cliffs. Dinner is Tuesday to Saturday, and for much of the year the sun sets while you are at the table.
A table facing west
Los Gigantes is on the south-west coast, at the foot of the Cliffs of Los Gigantes. AQUA is at Calle Geranios 16, a few minutes from the marina. The room does not face a courtyard or a street. It faces the sea and the rock wall. At sunset the light comes in from the side and the stone changes colour.
That is what a dinner for two rests on here. There is no separate “romantic” menu. There is the same Atlantic cuisine with Canarian roots, served slowly, with that view. Hours are 18:30 to 22:00. Closed Sunday and Monday.

In short: in winter the sun goes near opening time; from April into early October it sets during dinner, between about 19:30 and 21:00 depending on the month. The cliff can hide it a few minutes before the official time.
How the evening goes
The tasting menu is six courses at €65 per person. It is served to the whole table, so you both have it, and it takes between two and three hours. It changes with the season: fish from the port of Los Gigantes, local produce, a sweet finish. If you would rather choose, there is an à la carte.
A 4-glass pairing is €45 if you ask for it. The wine list moves through Canarian bottles and classics from elsewhere. When you book, say if the table is celebrating something, and mention any allergy, including a vegetarian or gluten-free adaptation.

Give the dinner as a gift
The same table can be given. Gift vouchers cover the tasting menu for two. They arrive by email, with instructions for choosing a date, and they are valid for 12 months. Booking the day still depends on availability: the voucher does not hold a table until a date is requested.
