AQUA is the brainchild of Tenerife's celebrated chef, Lucas Maes who owns and operates two restaurants on the island, each with its own distinctive style, underpinned by Lucas's unique personality.
Originally from Belgium, Lucas grew up in Tenerife, where he developed his passion for creating flavour combinations and visual styles in dishes made built around local ingredients. After 3 years' study and 12 years working in Michelin star restaurants abroad, including Scholteshof restaurant in Belgium, Lucas returned to the Canary islands. In his restaurants he expresses his creativity, using the many exquisite fresh ingredients to be found in the mountains, fields, shores and ocean of the Canary islands.
